Micahel Beasley Sets Deadline For NBA Decision

Kansas State's Michael Beasley has set a time of 5:00 p.m. CDT Monday, to make up his mind whether he will enter the NBA Draft, or will return to K-State for his sophomore season. The AP Player of the Year runner up met with family and close friends this weekend to discuss the situation. Beasley, likely to be the number one pick in June if he declares, will hold a press conference at Kansas State at his deadline time. Although experts believe he will indeed declare for the NBA, the decision seems more up in the air than most people think. Indeed Beasley is destined for a multi million dollar contract, he has reiterated that he loves college and enjoys being a student, in addition to being an athlete.

I think that even though Beasley loves college, possible more than any other student-athlete, he will declare for the NBA Draft. With his size, 6-10, 235, quickness, talent, and basketball smarts, Beasley should have an easy transition to the NBA. I expect that if he goes pro, Beasley will have a greater impact than Kevin Durant has had with the Seattle Supersonics. The quality that makes Beasley so attractive in the NBA, was his ability to turn around the K-State program. Beasley put Kansas State basketball back on the map and lead them to their first NCAA Tournament victory in 20 years. I would love to see Beasley stick around for a bit longer in college and have an even better year as a sophomore, but Beasley has dominated enough to become an NBA superstar.

i agree with you that beasley could become an NBA superstar and i also think he was the best player this year...who would u rather have, beasley or rose???

Personally I would rather have Beasley rather than rose. to me leading what Beasley did at Kansas State is more impressive than what Rose accomplished at Memphis. Beasley had much better stats and lead K-State to it's first tournament win in 20 years, now thats saying something. Rose did lead Memphis to the national championship game, however his team was much more talented with a better head coach. If i had the number one pick in the draft though I would pick according to my teams needs, not who is the best available player, so either one could be number one this June.
