I think that this is a good place for Stanford to start looking for a new coach and Oliver seems like a likely candidate. Oliver comes from within the system and has proven that he can be successful. His main duty last year was to work with Brook and Robin Lopez, and Oliver did a tremendous job grooming those guys to make Stanford have the best front court in the nation. I suspect that if Oliver gets the head coaching job, we could see many more top big recruits committing to Stanford, so they could player under Oliver.

Doug Oliver is Interviewed For Stanford Head Coaching Job
Stanford has begun the interview process on finding a new coach by beginning with their top assistant, Doug Oliver. Oliver just completed his second season as the lead assistant for Stanford, backing up head coach Trent Johnson. Johnson, Pac-10 coach of the year, surprisingly parted way with the Cardinal and will coach at LSU next season. Oliver became head coach for part of one game this season when Johnson was ejected in the second round of the tournament against Marquette. Stanford went on to win that game 82-81 in overtime. Oliver was in charge of working with Stanford's big men and offensive schemes when it came to on the court coaching.
