Danny Green Follows Teammates To the NBA Draft

North Carolina's junior sixth man, Danny Green, will join two of his teammates by declaring for the NBA Draft.  Green, like Wayne Ellington and Ty Lawson, will not hire an agent.  Green and his father met with UNC's head coach Roy Williams to discuss the possibility of going to the NBA and Green decided to test his luck in the Draft.  Green was fourth on the Tar Heels with 11.5 PPG and was second with 4.9 RPG.

I don't think this is a good decision for Green and I think that he will wind up returning for his senior season at UNC.  Right now, Green is projected as being a late second round pick or being undrafted, so I think in the end he will come back.  It is extremely tough for bench guys in college to be top picks in the NBA, especially if they are juniors or seniors.  At 6-5, Green is pretty small for a NBA shooting guard or small forward, so it would pretty tough for him to make a name for himself at the next level.  If he returns to UNC and joins Tyler Hansbrough, the Tar Heels can be serious contenders for the National Championship.
